The DG3 Gyro is the first model in a new line of gyroscopic stabilization for the marine market from Dometic.

Energy Saving and Recovery Innovations

Traditional gyros lose energy to heat during dampening, but the DG3 captures and redirects this energy to power its systems, maximizing efficiency and sustainability.

Through the use of better mass placement, the DG3 has reduced overall power consumption by 40% allowing for a lower operation speed while achieving peak stabilization.

A high performance Dometic designed and manufactured brushless motor and unique bearing configuration further reduces power needs.

Custom Designed and Engineered Components

The DG3 was designed with our customers in mind with components integrated that reduce overall maintenance and the long-term cost of ownership that is often associated with gyros. The elimination of hydraulic cylinders and integration of an all-electric precession actuator eliminates the risk of leaks and fluid maintenance.

Better Cooling = Longer Bearing Life

Better cooling methods including patent pending cooling of the inner race, and parallel path cooling increases bearing life. In addition, the use of a titanium heat exchanger that has been designed for harsh marine environments and adopted from our iconic marine air conditioning, DG3 remains cool in all sea conditions.

Efficient Flywheel Design

Advanced materials and precision engineering enable rapid spin-up times and smooth operation, ensuring boat owners spend less time waiting and more time enjoying the water.

Roller Screw Technology

Adapted from the iconic Optimus system, this innovation delivers higher torque with less wear, boosting both reliability and lifespan.
