Drawbar receives prestigious 2022 if and Red Dot Product Design Awards

Dometic DrawBar, an ergonomic and compact wine cooling innovation, has notably received recognition by both the iF and Red Dot juries with 2022 Awards in Product Design. Leveraging Dometic’s expertise in cooling, which dates back a century to 1922 when two young Swedish engineers invented modern cooling technology for refrigerators, DrawBar also takes queues from the brand’s success in developing solutions for compact spaces. The revolutionary home appliance offers the functionality of a full-size wine cooler in an elegant and compact drawer design that fits 5 bottles.

The iF Design Award, founded in 1953 in Germany, is one of the world’s most prestigious accolades signifying outstanding design for consumers and the design industry. Comprised of international design experts, the 2022 iF jury reviewed a record number of 10,776 products and projects from manufacturers, designers and design offices from around the world.

Red Dot, founded in 1955, is a distinct design award that is internationally recognized as a seal of innovation in design. This year’s Red Dot Award’s esteemed jury of design experts and professionals reviewed over 20,000 submissions from around the world.

Featuring a user-friendly control panel, the appliance offers on, off and five preset temperatures (between 5°C and 17°C) for cooling and storing white, red and sparkling wines. This smart cooling drawer is also equipped with a humidity tray that works to offer optimal storage condition.

DrawBar has been designed and engineered to fit any 60cm wide kitchen cabinet. Inherently ergonomic, DrawBar can be ‘invisibly’ installed behind a custom panel or ‘visibly’ faced with a glass front. Soft illumination showcases bottles and adds a feeling of luxury whenever the drawer is opened.

The Dometic DrawBar will be available in Q4 2022.
